Youth jumps before train, wife booked for abetment to suicide

GREATER NOIDA: A 23-year-old woman and her two brothers have been booked for abetment of suicide on Tuesday as her husband had named them in a video he shot before ending his life on Saturday.
Yatin Sharma (24), a mechanical engineer, jumped in front of a train near Dankaur railway station in Greater Noida. According to police, Sharma was depressed as his wife allegedly had an affair with another man from her village in Haryana. Sharma belonged to Hirnoti village in Bulandshahr and worked in a private firm in Bahadurgarh district of Haryana. He had married one Lalitesh from Dhameda village of Bulandshahr on May 7, 2018.
On Saturday around 3pm, he told his family that he is going to Dankaur for some work. Police said that before jumping in front of the train, Sharma shot a selfie video in which he had blamed his wife and her two brothers for his suicide. "I am committing suicide to save my parents from the embarrassment which my wife has been causing to our family. She and her brothers have been torturing me and my family. They are the reason for my death. I want strict action against them," Sharma had said in the video which he posted on social media before ending his life.
The victim’s father Suresh Chandra told TOI that Lalitesh had an affair with an another man which created differences between the couple. Lalitesh and her brothers - Gyanendra (35) and Gopal (30) have been booked under sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Kakod police station in Bulandshahr.
