Purush Vadh

The project keeping toll of India's hidden 'epidemic'!

India is experiencing an 'epidemic' of fatal violence against men and to check it, we have started 'Purush Vadh', which is still just a small fraction of the total number of suicides or murders of innocent Men, the large majority of which relate to domestic violence.

There is an epidemic of violence against men in India and it happens all the time. When we get to read one death at a time, it looks like it's segmented, that it's not connected, but actually, it's part of a huge problem.

The fact is every year, a very large number of men commit suicide where prevailing gender bias against men is also a cause in some form or the other, apart from numerous men who are killed by the hands of someone who thought they love them.

National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) statistics only work two or three years after the events. So we try to do absolute grassroots research searching for media reports.

We plan to make this project/collection authentic so the records are not just as detailed as possible, but also to give some meaning to the life of the person who died, as a constant reminder of the ongoing problem, which pushes the governments to act to at least consider Men to be human.
