The west division police have arrested a woman and her paramour for plotting to kill her husband in Jnanabharathi recently. The arrested are Shylaja and her lover Anand, residents of Nagadevanahalli, the police said.

According to the police, Shylaja’s husband Prasanna Kumar learnt recently that his wife was having an affair with her friend Anand. However, she told her husband that he was only her friend.

Kumar then decided to catch them with evidence. He installed a call recorder on her phone and then switched it on. Kumar, after coming home, asked her to hand over her phone on the pretext of playing games and checked on her phone calls. He was shocked to stumble on a call made by his wife to her paramour where she was planning to eliminate him.

He then took her phone as evidence and approached Jnanabharathi police and registered a complaint. The police detained both Shylaja and Anand and questioned them and confirmed that they had conspired to murder Kumar. The police then arrested both, produced them before a magistrate who remanded them in judicial custody.
