Agra: Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman for the murder of her husband. The cops have also arrested three other men, including woman's paramour for the brutal murder. The victim named Satyapal went missing three months ago from Bah area in the district.
The matter came to light after the victim's cousin, Siddarthnath, filed a missing person's complaint at Bah police station on March 30. The police on Monday recovered the decomposed body of Satyapal from the jungle in Sunsar village.
According to a report, the man's murder was planned by his wife, who was upset with his extreme miserly ways of running the household. The couple was married for nine years and had two children.
"During the course of our investigation, the woman confessed that she had to borrow phones and other items in the absence of her husband which embarrassed her. The woman later entered into an illicit affair with a 22-year-old Vijay. She asked Vijay to hire people so that Satyapal can be bumped off. The duo were in a relationship for over a year after which the woman decided to get rid of her husband and marry Vijay. The woman gave Rs 10,000 cash and her jewellery to Vijay so that he can hire killers to murder Satyapal to avoid suspicion on them," the report quoted Station House Officer (SHO) Bah, Pradeep Kumar Pandey as saying.
After getting money, Vijay hired three men to commit the crime. The police have identified three men as Shivrat, Chhatrapal and Vipin. Vijay, along with three accused strangled the victim and dumped his body in the forest.
Till now, police have arrested three persons including Vijay, while the fourth accused Chhatrapal is absconding. The police have booked the accused under Section 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 364 (kidnapping for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
