The Mumbra Police in Maharashtra’s Thane has arrested a housewife, her sister and her lover for the murder of a man whose throat was slit with a sharp weapon last week.

Ahmed Shaikh, a resident of Mumbra, was found murdered last week at a secluded spot in Mumbra. Shaikh's throat was slit using a sharp weapon while other signs of assault were also found on his body. The body was found near MM Valley in Mumbra after which the police launched an investigation.

While questioning some of the suspects, police recorded statements of the family members of Shaikh. Shaikh's wife Rukhsar (30) kept changing statements which further raised a suspicion. When asked if Shaikh had any enmity with anyone, Rukhsar kept changing her statements multiple times.

Rukhsar finally spilled the beans and confessed that the conspiracy to kill Shaikh was hatched by her as she was in love with Shaikh's friend Mohammad Nafees Shaikh (33), who is an auto driver.

The police then learnt that Rukhsar, along with her sister Reshma Sayyed (28), and lover Mohammad Nafees Shaikh hatched the plan to get rid of Shaikh as he had got a hint about the affair and was objecting to it.

On February 27, Mohammad Nafees took Shaikh to MM Valley and Mittal ground where they both consumed liquor, Shaikh was fed a large amount of liquor and got him drunk. It was then that Mohammad Nafees attacked him and killed him using a sharp weapon and fled from the spot. Police have arrested the three on the charge of murder.
