Navi Mumbai: Man allegedly commits suicide after wife leaves him

In a shocking incident reported from Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, a man's corpse was found in his house three days after his wife left him following an argument. She had gone to her mother's house.

Navi Mumbai: In a bizarre case reported from Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, a 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after his wife left his house following a tiff just a few days before Diwali. The woman had gone to stay with her mother following a bitter argument and her husband couldn’t bear it and took his life.

The incident was reported three days later after his neighbours smelled some rotten odour emanating from the house. Shankar Kolekar is the name of the deceased person. He stayed in the Shankarbua Wadi area of Ghansoli with his wife. A few days before Diwali, there was a dispute with his wife for some reason which is not yet known.

Following the spat, his wife had gone away to her mother’s home. After a complaint was received, the police broke the door of his house and found his corpse. However, the police don’t yet know the reason for the dispute between the couple.

Sub-inspector Sachin Pawar said that the body had been recovered from the house and sent for autopsy. According to Rabale Police Station, it has been reported that the reason behind to suicide is the moving out of the woman to her mother’s house. The exact reason behind the fight between husband and wife is not yet clear. The police has contacted Shankar's wife and will question her about the same.

Earlier, in another case of suicide reported from Ghansoli, Ashwin Kumar Kuswah (aged 27) had committed suicide by hanging himself on November 1. The reason for his suicide is still unclear.
