Man murdered in Tiruvallur, wife’s lover suspected
CHENNAI: A 34-year-old man was found dead with injury marks on the back of his neck on Saturday night in his house in Chunnabukulam, near Gumudipoondi, in Tiruvallur. According to police, the deceased, Murugan, a mason, was alone at home when the incident took place.
A team from Arambakkam police station found Murugan lying in a pool of blood. His wife, Devi, claimed that she was in a temple and when returned she found her husband dead.
Police found Devi giving contradictory answers about her location at the time of the murder. Unsatisfied with her replies, police made some inquiries in the neighbourhood and found that Devi was having an affair with a lorry driver in the same locality and Murugan had been asking her to break off her relationship with the other man.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Murugan had warned the driver after which Devi got into a fight with him. Police have launched a hunt for the driver who is missing.
