GREATER NOIDA: A 29-year-old woman and her lover have been booked for murder a day after the woman’s husband was found dead in his Alto car in the green belt area near his house in Sector Omicron 1 in Greater Noida.

Though the body was found on Saturday night, his wife did not file any man missing complaint.

According to police, Satveer Singh (35), an original resident of Jaitpur village in Mainpuri district, got married to Khushboo Singh in 2005. The couple have a 12-year-old son and a seven-month-old daughter.

Satveer worked in a private company as an assistant manager and lived with his family at a rented apartment in Omicron Sector 1A. The alleged lover of the woman, Dharmender, is a resident of Mainpuri and a cousin of the victim.

On Saturday, Satveer’s body was found in his car with a cloth around the neck, whose one side was tied to the door. His elder brother, living in Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh, was informed of his death while his body was sent for an autopsy.

Dharmendra Sharma, SHO, Greater Noida police station, told TOI that prima facie it wasn’t clear whether it was a suicide or murder. "We were told by his wife that Satveer did not come back home since Friday morning. However, she did not file any police complaint after which the body was sent for autopsy," Sharma added.

"We also found a diary in the victim’s car in which he had mentioned about instances of his wife and Dharmender cheating on him. The two-and-a-half page long note was also signed by the victim. He had described Dharmender as a cousin and made both responsible for his death," said Sharma.

"I can’t take the pain anymore, both the man and my wife have made my life hell and full of humiliation. I want my wife and her lover to be punished for playing with my life and emotions. She was cheating on me since years and I confirm before dying that I name my property in my son’s name only, because the seven-month-old daughter is not mine," says an excerpt from the note.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the brother of the victim gave a complaint against the victim’s wife and lover in which he accused them of murder.

"A case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) against Khushboo and Dharmender who have been detained for questioning. We are still waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain the cause of the death," Sharma added.
