Surat, Jun 30 () Police today arrested a 28-year-old woman, her married paramour and his driver for allegedly killing her busineesman husband on Monday.

Dishit Jariwala (28) was hacked to death on the night of June 27 at his bungalow located in posh Parle point area here.

The accused were identified as Welcy Jariwala, her boyfriend Suketu Modi (29) and latter's driver Dhirendra Chauhan (34).

According to police, Welcy wanted to remove Jariwala out of her way as she wanted to marry Suketu, whom she knew for many years, and plotted the plan accordingly.

"On the night of June 27, Jariwala was hacked to death by two persons at his bungalow. At that time, Welcy, who was present there, told police that two assailants had forcefully entered their house to conduct loot and killed her husband in a scuffle," said Additional Commissioner of Police Nipuna Torawane.

The officer said the police doubted her version from the beginning and subsequently unravelled the conspiracy during the course of investigation.

"However, we were not convinced. Subsequent investigations revealed that Jariwala was killed as part of a pre-planned conspiracy by Welcy and Suketu. He was killed by Suketu and Chauhan at the behest of Welcy. We have arrested the trio today. Welcy, Suketu and Chauhan have admitted that they were involved in the crime," the ACP said.

Investigations revealed that Welcy and Suketu, who is also married, are distant relatives and they knew each other prior to Welcy's marriage three years back.

"Both of them were not happy with their respective marriages. Since Welcy was still in love with Suketu, both of them decided to eliminate Jariwala to begin a new life together. As part of the plan, Welcy convinced Suketu to murder her husband," said Torawane. Corr PJT PD NSK PVI BAS
