UP woman convicted for murder of husband after 6-year-old son testifies in court

Shamli: In a curious development, a 37-year-old woman was convicted by a local court in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh for murdering her husband with the help of her paramour. The conviction comes after the woman's 6-year-old son testified in the court.
The convicts have been identified as 37-year-old Rajesh Devi and her lover 39-year-old Pradeep Kumar. Both the convicts have been sentenced to life imprisonment. The 6-year-old Kartikey Singh helped the police to nail his mother in the murder of his father.
The murder took place in June 2018. The victim identified as 35-year-old Dharamvir Singh was strangled by his wife and her lover. The victim was killed after he opposed their illicit relationship.
After the murder, the accused hung the body from a door to make it appear like a suicide. The whole act of murder by witnessed by the boy who was 5 at that time. He now studies in Class 5 and is 11 years old.
The boy now lives with his paternal aunt at Khekra village of Baghpat district. According to the report, the boy informed his grandfather and police about the murder. He later testified in the court.
"My mother died for me the day she killed my father. When I grow up, I want to become a police officer so that I could bring such crimes to justice," the report quoted the child as saying after the court verdict.
