VADODARA: A teacher in Chhota Udepur committed suicide in the wee hours on Thursday following an argument with his wife.

Mayur Rathwa, who used to teach in Ghoghadev village in Chhota Udepur taluka, was found hanging to a ceiling fan using a rubber gas pipeline on Thursday morning. Police said that Rathwa had an argument with his wife over taking a loan from bank on Wednesday night. "We believe that Rathwa would have got upset after the argument due to which he decided to take the extreme step," said a police official. Rathwa’s body was sent to general hospital in Chhota Udepur town for postmortem and a case of accidental death was registered at Chhota Udepur police station.

Sources said that Rathwa’s father Jesinh Rathwa works as executive magistrate at Valia village in Bharuch district.
