HYDERABAD: A 26-year-old housewife, who claimed to have cleared preliminary test for sub-inspector (SI) post, allegedly killed her husband along with her nephew and dumped the body next to the railway tracks in Borabanda. The victim’s wife reportedly has an affair with the other accused.

M Srinivas was a trackman at Borabanda railway station. He married the woman in 2009, and they have three sons. The y have been staying at railway quarters next to Borabanda railway station. In 2017, the woman developed intimacy with V Vijay Naik, nephew of Srinivas, when he stayed with the family for a few months, police said. Srinivas came to know about the affair and asked Vijay to leave their house. "Vijay started staying with his grandfather at Malkajgiri, but secretly used to meet the woman at her house when Srinivas was not at home. Srinivas came to know about this and started harassing his wife," Sanatnagar inspector K Chandrasekhar Reddy said.

Unable to put up with the harassment, the woman called up Vijay on February 1 and asked him to kill Srinivas. Vijay landed at the Boraband house at 1am on February 2 when Srinivas was asleep. The woman gave Vijay a boulder. He bludgeoned Srinivas to death and the accused dragged the body to the nearby railway tracks and abandoned it there. But the drag marks, blood trail between the house and railway tracks, injury marks on the legs of the victim due to dragging of the body gave away that he was killed. Sniffer dogs led cops to the victim’s house. Cops took Srinivas’ wife into custody and, based on her confession, arrested Vijay from Malkajgiri.
