LUCKNOW: Even as Kanpur's SP (East) Surendra Kumar Das, who had allegedly consumed poison on Wednesday, died at a local hospital on Sunday, his brother alleged that the 2014 batch IPS officer's wife was responsible for the extreme step. Das's body was brought to his Ekta Nagar residence near SGPGI on Sunday evening.
Talking to reporters, his brother Narendra Das said Surendra's wife Raveena drove him to take the extreme step and he would lodge an 'abatement to suicide' case against her.
He further informed mediapersons that Surendra and Raveena had met through a matrimonial website and got married on April 9, 2017.
Bro: His marital life was not going well
Just three months after the marriage, my brother hinted that his marital life was not going well and that he wanted divorce. Raveena used to instigate my brother against us, as a result he severed his ties with the family and started living with her in Kanpur," Narendra alleged, adding, "He had last spoken to us three months back. She fought with him when he used to call us or insisted to come for meeting us in Lucknow."
On Sunday evening, when Surendra’s body arrived at his Lucknow residence, a large of people, both police officers and neighbours, came to console the bereaved family. Surendra was the youngest and brightest of the four siblings and had lived at this house — which his ex-Armyman father had got constructed, since 2010. His mother Indu fainted several times, but Surendra’s two brothers supported her.He completed high school from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ballia in 2004 then did intermediate from Avadh School in Lucknow.
"We had come to Lucknow in 2004, after my father Ram Chandra Das retired from Army as a captain," said Narendra. "Later, my brother cracked IIT, and pursued B.Tech in electronics from IIT-Kharagpur and got his first job in Coal India in Madhya Pradesh. Later, in 2010, he quit his job and began preparing for the UPSC," he added.

Both - mother and wife are enemy of each other and then they blame men for their problems. In fact millions of Indian men are dying a slow death every single day due to such atmosphere at home. Lord knows when will the feminists realize that they need to morally educate the WOMEN first, if they really want to help the fairer sex.Piyush Kumar"We had come to Lucknow in 2004, after my father Ram Chandra Das retired from Army as a captain," said Narendra.
