Kaziranga, September 4: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly hacked her husband to death with a sharp dao (machete) on Monday night.

The incident took place in Lakhipur, Kaziranga. The deceased has been identified as Nabin Barua.

As per reports, Nabin’s wife eloped with her lover a few days back. However, she returned back to her husband a few weeks back.

Upon hearing loud screams coming from the house, the neighbours informed a relative of the couple. The relative further intimated the police.

"When I arrived at the spot with police, I saw a bucket of water and a torch lying on the verandah. There were blood stains everywhere in the house. The body of Nabin was found laying lifeless in a pool of blood with a deep cut mark on his forehead.The woman might have planned the murder with her lover," said a relative of the deceased.

The woman is in the custody of the police and is being interrogated.
