Wife beheads man to live with lover in Greater Noida
Rajni was not happy with her married life and found solace in Aniruddh, said police
GREATER NOIDA: A 30-year-old woman and her lover were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly chopping off her husband’s head. After beheading the man with a sharp knife, police said, the duo disposed of his body and head separately near the Shahberi area of Greater Noida last month. The decomposed body was recovered after almost 10 days.
According to police, Rajni took the extreme step as she was not happy with her married life with Bhoop Singh (34) and found solace in 32-year-old Aniruddh. The couple, originally from Bhadra village in Madhya Pradesh’s Chattarpur district, met Aniruddh while working at a construction site in Jhansi six months ago. Aniruddh is from UP.
The alleged crime took place on November 30 night, soon after Bhoop returned home drunk as usual. The couple stayed in a rented room in Shahberi after relocating from Jhansi. Police said Rajni and Aniruddh, who was already there, killed Bhoop and then dumped both the body and the head at a secluded spot in the same area. Four days later, Rajni went to the local police station to file a missing person’s report. Though initially cops went on a wild goose chase, investigators zeroed in on Rajni when Bhoop’s body was found and his brother named the woman and her lover in his complaint.
"We recovered the torso on December 9 in a decomposed state and later the head from another nearby plot at Vrinda Garden Colony. The victim’s brother identified Bhoop and on December 10 filed a complaint against the wife and her lover," said Anil Kumar Sahi, the SHO of Bisrakh police station.
"We got to know from the victim’s brother about the alleged love affair of Rajni with Aniruddh. On Tuesday when we went to question her, she fled from her home. Later that night, we arrested her and her lover from Shahberi Pulia in Greater Noida. They have confessed to the murder," the police officer added.
During interrogation, Rajni told police that after she fell in love with Aniruddh around six months ago in Jhansi, she eloped with him leaving her husband and a one-year-old boy behind, and lived together for three months.
"After three months, Bhoop found her and brought her back home. But the woman was unhappy with her married life and so she plotted the murder of her own husband with the help of her lover. Both the accused were produced in a court and sent to jail on Wednesday," Sahi said. The accused have been booked under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of Indian Penal Code.
