Girl held for husband’s murder

Rudrapur: The Udham Singh Nagar police detained a minor girl on Saturday for allegedly murdering her husband in Bandiya village of Kichha recently.
Talking to TOI, SP (city) Devendra Peencha said, "Soon after the murder, victim Laxman Lal’s wife had gone missing. When we scanned the CCTV footage, we spotted her leaving the house on the night of the murder. She was later traced to her parents’ house in UP’s Hardoi." "Inquiry revealed that she had eloped with Lal three months ago and later married him. The couple used to have regular fights over the victim’s paltry income. On August 28, she slit the throat of her husband while he was sleeping. She has confessed to the crime and the murder weapon was recovered from Kichha railway station," he added.
The girl was later sent to the borstal school in Kotdwar.
