Rajkot: The man, whose wife had made him consume poisonous rotlo (a bread made of bajra or Pearl millet) in Meghpar Kumbharadi village of Anjar taluka in Kutch district on the night of November 12, died at GK General Hospital in Bhuj on Monday.
The accused, identified as Hemi (52), had served the rotlo to her husband Duda Rathod (52) and son Narsinh (20). Hemi was arrested on November 15. She told the cops that both her husband and son suspected her of having an extramarital affair, which led to frequent domestic quarrels. Tired of this, she decided to kill both.
While Duda died on Monday, Narsinh is still undergoing treatment.
After the father-son duo was rendered unconscious, Hemi took them first to a private hospital in Adipur and from there to GK General Hospital in Bhuj.
"When the duo regained consciousness, they told us that Hemi had poisoned their food. The doctors also confirmed that it was a case of food poisoning. When interrogated, Hemi confessed that she had poisoned the rotlo," said an official from Anjar police station.
After the death of her husband, police have booked Hemi for murder.
