An alcoholic woman strangled her husband to death for refusing to give her money to buy alochol.

Ramulamma, a 50-year-old woman from Manikeswar Nagar in Hyderabad, murdered her husband A Chandraiah, on Thursday, The New Indian Express reports.

Ramulamma asked her husband for money to buy liquor to celebrate the ocassion of Dussehra. The husband and wife got into a rather ugly scuffle when Chandraiah refused to give her money. "Ramulamma assaulted her husband, Chandraiah fell to the ground and was unconscious. Then Ramulamma strangulated his throat, snuffing out his life," said the Osmania University police inspector V Ashok Reddy to The New Indian Express.

Ramulamma tried to flee the scene saying her husband collapsed and died due to a heart attack. But the PME report said the victim died after strangulation.

A Chandraiah was 53 years old. Ramulamma was arrested on Friday and was remanded in judicial custody.
