Coimbatore: The rural police arrested a 40-year-old man for murdering his paramour’s husband a few days ago near Thadagam.
Police identified him as N Arun Dolli of Howrah in West Bengal, who was working in a diamond factory at GN Mills near Thudiyalur. He had hacked P Mahadeep Guchhait, 44, of Hooghly in West Bengal to death on October 16, police sources said. Guchhait’s body was found on the Kaniyur–Dhaliyur Road with multiple injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Guchhait had arrived in Coimbatore a few days ago to meet his daughter Supriya Kohri, who was working in a diamond factory at GN Mills. "She is settled in Coimbatore along with her husband Naveen. Guchhait and his wife had stayed with their daughter at GN Mills for one year when she was pregnant. Dolli, who was also staying at GN Mills, often visited Supriya’s house and began an affair with Guchhait’s wife. Family members warned the duo to quit the relationship. One year later, Guchhait and his wife left for their native place. However, his wife often spoke to Dolli over mobile phone. Guchhait, who came to know this, warned his wife. He reached Coimbatore by train on October 16 around 12pm. Dolli picked him up and the duo had alcohol from a Tasmac outlet. On the way home, Dolli stopped the motorcycle and asked Guchhait to get down. He then hacked Guchhait to death," a police officer said.

Police arrested Arun Dolli on Friday and remanded him in judicial custody. TNN
